Steven Tutunik
Communications Director, VDOT Springfield Interchange Project



Steven is the Communications Director for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Springfield Interchange Project. He is responsible for the management of the Project Information Center in the Springfield Mall and other public awareness programs focusing on community and government relations.

Prior to joining VDOT, Steven served in the U.S. Army for 23 years. He retired in January 1993 after earning a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Steven's last assignment with the Army was with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs at the Pentagon.

Steven has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and a Master of Science degree in International Relations. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Engineer School in Fort Belvoir, VA and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, KS.
