Michael Loulakis
President, Wickwire Gavin, P.C.


Michael is President of Wickwire Gavin, P.C., a national law firm that specializes in the representation of domestic and international clients on construction-related matters. Since joining Wickwire Gavin in 1979, he has represented clients on projects around the world in the power, telecommunications, healthcare, public facility and transportation sectors of the construction industry. His role on these projects ranges from advising owners about project delivery systems to contract drafting, claims administration and dispute resolution.

Michael is active in a number of trade and professional associations, including ASCE, where he has been the author of Civil Engineering magazine's Legal Trends column since 1981. He has been particularly active in the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) since its founding in 1993. In April 2002, DBIA honored Michael by recognizing him in the inaugural class of Designated Design-Build Professionals.

Mr. Loulakis graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and was a member of Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honor Society. Before earning a J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law, he practiced as a geotechnical engineer with a consulting firm in the greater Boston area.
